Welcome!

The Jewish Student Association is a student-led, non-denominational group on American University's Washington, DC campus. We are devoted to social, religious, and cultural enrichment, with events and programs focusing on the social aspects of Jewish campus life and seeking to build a strong sense of community among AU's Jewish student population.

JSA puts on many events every school year, ranging from purely social events as monthly pancake nights to annual events like a Tu B'Shevat seder, Chanukah and Purim parties, and talent shows.

JSA's objective is to provide an outlet for Jewish students at American University to interact, meet new people, celebrate holidays, and learn new things about themselves, their religion, and their culture.

Becoming involved with JSA, or even just going to one event, can expand your Jewish outreach!

We hope to see you soon at an upcoming JSA event!

About American University's Jewish Student Association

Our Partnership with Hillel
As a Jewish organization under Hillel's wing, we love to partner with Hillel on events like Purim and Hanukkah parties. Also, along with many of the Jewish Organizations on Campus, we have a role in Holocaust Remembrance Week. We love being part of the American University Jewish community all of its events.
What people say about us:

"I love JSA because it is a strong Jewish community that creates a space for people to learn, celebrate, and engage with others. It has given me a place to meet new people and be proud to be Jewish." - Yarden Mor, Class of '23

"I got involved in JSA because, as a Freshman, I wanted to become more active in the Jewish community on campus. Additionally, I wanted to get to meet new people. I also wanted to gain leadership experiences while being on the general board. With my time on the general board, liked I hoped, I have been able to become more active in the Jewish community and have gained valuable experiences." -Noah Shulman Class of '23
